High velocity

What is a high velocity signal?

A high velocity signal is a signal that is defined by unusually high activity relative to your project's usual user behavior.

How does it work?

The high velocity signal is calculated by comparing the user's activity to the project's usual activity over the past day, week, or month.

If the standard deviation of the user's activity is higher than 3 standard deviations from the project's usual activity over the past day, week, or month, it is considered a high velocity signal.

Where can I see high velocity signals?

You can see the high velocity signals in the following places:

  • On the overview page, you can see the top high velocity users for your project.
  • On the accounts page, you can filter to see all the accounts with high velocity signals. These accounts are flagged with the high velocity icon .

How can I take action?

If you want to take action on a high velocity signal, you can navigate to the account details page for the account in question and review the offending user or devices to determine if they are fraudulent or abusive.

Following your review, if you find that the user or devices are indeed fraudulent or abusive, you can take action by blocking the user or devices or by enforcing challenges on that account.

For more information on challenges, see the challenges documentation.
