How account takeover protection works
What is account takeover?
Account takeover is when an account is being used by someone other than the account owner. This can happen when an attacker gains access to an account by guessing the password or by stealing the account credentials.
What is account takeover protection?
Account takeover protection is a feature that helps you detect and prevent account takeover attempts. Rupt's account takeover protection is powered by our technologies such as fingerprinting, device identification, and behavioral signals.
How does it work?
Rupt collects signals from the user's browser and device to create a "familiarity" profile of the user. When a login attempt is detected, Rupt will compare the signals to the user's familiarity profile to determine if the login attempt is suspicious. If Rupt detects an account takeover attempt, it will recommend that you block or challenge the login attempt.
