The Rupt system was in maintenance mode for roughly 48 hours on May 11th and 12th, 2024. We enter maintenance mode to perform system updates and ensure the system is running smoothly. This maintenance period was longer than usual due to a critical database issue that required significant attention.

No issues were caused to any users during this maintenance period, the system enters what we call "graceful degradation" mode, where the system is still operational but with reduced functionality. This allows us to perform maintenance without causing any issues to users.

Rupt's database is getting really big, and we're starting to see some performance issues. We're working on optimizing the database and improving performance, but it's a slow process. We're also looking into ways to scale the system to handle the increased load.
